Torsten Kjellstrand came to the US from Sweden. He worked as a photojournalist at daily newspapers, documentary photographer, and was co-director and co-producer of Finding Refuge and The Blackfeet Flood, both of which received support from Vision Maker Media. A Professor of Practice at the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication, he was a Fulbright Scholar in literature at Uppsala University in Sweden, and a John S. Knight Fellow at Stanford University.

Sven Haakanson Jr. grew up in the community of Old Harbor located on Kodiak Island, Alaska. After receiving his Ph.D. he returned to Kodiak and was the Director of the Alutiiq Museum for 13 years. Currently, he is a chair of and Professor in the department of Anthropology at the University of Washington and a Curator of Native American Anthropology at the Burke Museum. His research focuses on the repatriation of knowledge through museum collections.

Mark Blaine is a Professor of Practice at the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication. His documentary work explores complex issues of climate change and local communities, wildfire and resilience, public understanding of science, and the use of technology to engage publics in science and environmental issues. He has worked as a daily news journalist and editor, and his more recent work has been funded by Vision Maker Media.
